Policy/information

To all of our clients

Below is some information to facilitate your arrangements and ensure your fly-fishing trip is as enjoyable as possible.

Fishing Permit
The required Quebec Salmon Fishing Permit is available upon arrival at the lodge: resident and non-resident, catch & release, $10.50 CAN. There is no limit placed on salmon that is caught and released. Single barbless hooks must be used.

Transportation
Prior to your departure, please provide us with your travel itinerary to Sept. Îles. Air Canada offers regularly scheduled flight service to Sept-Îles. Please consult their website at www.aircanada.ca for schedule and fare information.

Your salmon fly-fishing package includes round trip transportation from Sept-Îles to the lodge by a 4 passenger helicopter. The helicopter capacity is 1000 lbs (454 kilos), including luggage (250 lbs or 113 kilos/person). For safety reasons weight restrictions are strictly enforced. There will be a charge for additional helicopter trips due to surplus weight, detours and premature departures. Make sure you are at the heliport on time.

Arrival
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our personnel and shown to your cabin. All cabins are double occupancy. Once you are settled in, you will be given a tour of the facilities, advised of meal times, security regulations, and our catch and release policy. You will then meet with your guide and design your fishing timetable. There is no limit placed on time on the water.

Fishing
You will have the opportunity to fish on the day of your arrival. Your first fishing location will be determined by draw and then you will be on a rotation basis so that you have the opportunity to experience all of our salmon pools during you stay. The pools are fished primarily by canoe, with the exception of a few wading pools.

We recommend that you bring the following:

· Light rain suit
· Light warm clothing
· Polarized sun glasses
· All personal items
· Clothing (a laundry service is provided so clothing can be kept to a minimum)

For your convenience we supply:

· Orvis® Hip boots
· Orvis® Waders
· Top of the line Orvis® fly-fishing rods and reels
· Line, leaders and flies

If you prefer your own equipment, we recommend:

· Nine foot rod for 8 or 9 weight line
· Quality fly-fishing reel with drag able to hold 150 to 200 yard of 20 lb test backing
· Your favorite flies (rendered barbless)

Alcoholic Beverages
We do not supply alcoholic beverages (beer, wine & spirits). In order to minimize the transportation fees and accommodate you, please fax your requirements at least two weeks prior to your arrival. Payment in cash or cheque is due upon arrival.

Departure
On the morning of your departure, you will have the opportunity to fish. You will then be served a light lunch and transported to the heliport. To avoid unnecessary stress at the end of your stay, we recommend that you book a return flight in the late afternoon or early evening.
